7 Iron Down the Line - Pretty Good Swing - 1-22-07

9 Iron Face on - Good Swing - 2-2-07

9 Iron Angled Face On - Absolutely Nutted - 2-10-09

Joe: Occasionally I get in a grove where i absolutely just nut every shot for a while. The video above is one of a series of about 15 shots that were right on the screws and probably went 7-10 yards farther than my typical 9 iron. The angle is a little different than the swing on on 2-2, but when i compare them, the only thing i can see is it looks like i am getting my weight back better on the 2-10 swing. Compare the 2 and tell me what differences you see. I also am trying to get a waggle into my pre shot routine which may be helping me get the right distance from the ball to be able to really clear my right side through.

Also, when i was practicing these 9 iron shots, i was wearing one of those gloves that won't allow you break your left wrist. Even with that on, it still looks like i am cupping some, though I'm not sure how. I know one thing, with that glove on i hardly ever pulled the ball unless i made myself do it. Another note, i keep getting twinges in my back when i work on this. When i put on a regular glove and swing through it without focusing on the extension, i am not feeling in my back. I think i am forcing my hands out so far that i am screwing up my spine angle after impact. I'll have to be careful with this one.

I think i have figured out how to rotate a video with this software i bought. That will allow me to get a full face on view with my camera.

Driver (new) - Good Swing - 2-10-07

Pretty good swing with the new driver. I exchanged it for a regular stiff shaft and it feels much better. They didn't have another used one so they gave me a brand new club which i thought was pretty cool.

The ball cut a little according to the sensor, but went about 260. I hit that shot good and solid, dead center of the clubface. I practiced hitting the driver again later in the day (2 a days) and did not hit it as good. Distance was there but i was getting too far outside on my swing plane and slicing it pretty good. I started working on slightly closing my stance (which is probably about square) and taking the club a little inside on the take away. That helped the swing plane but i was not getting the clubhead squared up at impact. More slices except for a couple of double crosses. Let me know what you think.
